Jefferson picked off a Cougar aerial and ran 39 yards into the end zone to spark William Paterson to a 39-13 victory
over Kean in a New Jersey Athletic Conference Conference contest on Saturday.
William Paterson claimed its first victory under new head coach Larry Arico as the Pioneers upped their overall
mark to 1-3 and are 1-1 in the NJAC. Quarterback Rob Warchol sparked the attack by throwing for 270 yards as he
connected on 19 of 31 passes. He connected with Abdul McCrary for an 88-yard TD bomb that ignited a 19-point WPU
outburst in the second quarter,
Kean dropped to 0-4 overall and is 0-2 in the NJAC as the losing streak has reached 19 in a row. The Cougars scored
in the opening quarter on Gil Pichardo's 30-yard pass to Mike Tharp. Pichardo, who plunged one-yard into the end
zone in the fourth quarter, completed 16 of 39 aerial attempts for 210 yards but was intercepted three times. |
