Nashville Dream Women's Pro Football Team Goes On The Market

NASHVILLE, TN (December 19, 2000) --- The Nashville Dream, one of the founding teams of the National Women's
Football League has been put on the market for sale. Owner Catherine Masters also owns the NWFL and believes not only it is a conflict of interest to own a team as well as the league, but knows she cannot do a good job trying to run both.

"I love the team and would very much like to stay as owner," said Masters, "But, in order for the Nashville Dream and the other teams in the league to prosper and have other teams around the country to play, I must put my energy and efforts into building the league."

Masters has spent more than 20 years in the top levels of sports marketing and feels her skills can be better utilized getting the league off to a solid start around the country this Spring.

The Dream has just finished a highly successful pre-season showcase against the Alabama Renegades. The pre-season achieved the exact results Masters had intended.

"We wanted to develop a product that would generate interest from the corporate world as well as the media and begin building a fan base. Our pre-season did just that and we are off and running as a league now," Masters added.

Master protrays the ideal candidate for team ownership as someone who owns his/her own business and who loves football. Put those two factors together and she believes it's a winning combination.

"Running a football team is a full time job and a great deal of fun for the right people," continued Masters..

The NWFL currently has franchises in Nashville, Huntsville, Philadelphia, Hartford and Baltimore.

NASHVILLE DREAM'S PAM MORRISON SCORES THREE TD'S
TO BEAT THE ALABAMA RENEGADES 30-15

The Nashville Dream kicked off it's first preseason in front of more than 1,500 screaming and cheering fans with a razzle dazzle show of tackling, running and passing. Running back Pam Morrison showed her speed as a former track athlete and ended the day with three touchdowns to her credit. She even added that pro touch with a little dance afterwards!

Quarterback Dana King had an equally impressive day guiding the team and also scoring on a quarterback sneak.

And, while the final score was impressive for the Dream, it by all means wasn't a cake-walk. Well coached by Ray Quinn, the Renegades not only held their own but behind the running of Bethel Bradford, actually lead the game
in the first half by one point. The Renegades showed that they are a team with potential and with a few more key players, will definitely become a challenge to anyone who plays them.

Dream coach Tim Dickerson had praise for his team. "They worked hard and in the second half, really started to show how good they can be. It was a great day for all of us and we couldn't be happier,".

Pete Stanton, Operations Director was equally impressed. "These girls learned to play football in a very short period of time and I was really proud of them."

The Dream goes to Huntsville on Saturday, October 28th and then returns home for the November 4th game. The team goes back to Huntsville on November 11th and then back to Nashville November 18 for the final home game. The final
game of the pre-season is in Huntsville on December 2nd.

"These two teams put on a wonderful show and not only did they score on the field, they scored a lot of points with the fans. It's been a long road for all of us and it's exciting to know that we have accomplished what we thought we could. Women's pro football is alive and well and the NWFL is where it is," states NWFL CEO, Catherine Masters.
